Uncharted: Our Guide — His Spirit

Pastor Shawn’s sermon, “Our Guide — His Spirit” in the Uncharted series is available here, or you can watch it below!

This week, Pastor Shawn laid out some ways the Holy Spirit guides us in God’s framework. He listed four things along with some questions. We’ll repost them here, so that you and the Lord can have a conversation about these things this week!

The Holy Spirit desires to talk to you about worship. Romans 11:36-12:1 talk about how we exist to bring God glory! We can ask the Lord the following questions to see how we might glorify Him better:

What are in my life do I need to surrender to You?

Where do I need to stop playing God and trust You?

The Holy Spirit wants to speak to us about our relationships:

Whom in my life do I need to forgive?

With whom do I need to reconcile?

Whom in my life do I need to serve?

Who in my life draws me away from You?

The Holy Spirit wants to speak to us about our purpose. He has poured out His Spirit on us so that we can help accomplish His purpose:

Whom do I need to pray or?

With whom do I need to share Jesus?

What have You given to me that I can serve You with?

The Holy Spirit wants to speak to us about our character.

What in my life isn’t pleasing to You?

What prevents me from hearing You more?

What in my life doesn’t display Jesus to others?

What is the wise thing to do?

These are great questions for us to contemplate as we allow the Holy Spirit to guide us. As Pastor Shawn pointed out, God has given us His framework (His Word). We know His truth from the Word. But God also provides His Spirit so we can continue to grow in our worship, relationships, purpose and character. As we grow in these things, we better glorify our great God!

  1. Wondering whether Hannah and family have a ride to church. Because of my current compromised immune system I have not been able to do that. Hope someone is looking after them.
